Job Summary:

Responsible for supervision and delivery of all accounting, grant reporting, IT, HR, and payroll.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Supervising, coaching, counseling and mentoring of three staff in performing all accounting, HR, IT and payroll functions.
  • General oversight of compliance with grant reporting.
  • Direction, control and execution of the annual Service Provider Agreement (SPA) in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Older American’s Act (OAA).  This includes coordinating across the organization to gather information and prepare the SPA. 
  • Manage payroll function. timesheets, journal entries and biweekly processing.   Maintain confidential employee personnel files and other records related to payroll.
  • Review employee leave and PTO accruals, benefits and other payroll deductions for accuracy.
  • Counsel with current employees concerning pay/benefit issues and assist the CFO with assigned  Human Resources tasks.. 
  • Supervise the general ledger and accounts payable function ensuring that vendor invoices are processed, recorded and paid in an accurate, timely manner. 
  • Supervise the billing and grants reporting function ensuring that invoices, payment requests and required grant reports are completed and filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • With CFO, serve as principal contact with funders for applications, information requests, accounting and monitoring.
  • With CFO, serve as principal contact with external auditors.
  • With CFO, oversee all government audits and monitoring activities and review of all requested schedules related to the annual OAA desk and on-site monitoring documents. 
  • Responsible for closing each month, and assisting CFO with monthly financial statements.
  • Supervises the Dietician vendor, oversees 6-month menu.
  • Principal liaison with payroll, and benefits providers.
  • Maintain month end compliance checklist.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting with minimum of 5 years of accounting and supervisory experience required. Non-profit and HR experience preferred.

Special Skills

Required:

  • General accounting procedures, computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including spreadsheet experience).
  • Working knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
  • Ability to sit for long periods with extended work at a video display terminal.
  • Able to occasionally lift 25 pounds or less (the size of a banker’s box).
  • Ability to multi-task, concentrate, and pay close attention to detail at the same time.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Confidentiality due to nature of position.

Experience with accounting software, Blackbaud Financial Edge, a major plus.
