Life Enrichment Supervisor (Adult Day Services)
Job Summary:
Plans, organizes and directs therapeutic activities designed to keep participants active and enhance their quality of life. Supervises the Life Enrichment Assistants.
Major Responsibilities:

Provides orientation, supervision and direction to Life Enrichment Assistants and Volunteers.

Schedules, plans and implements group and individual activities based on functional needs and interest of clients.

Ensures that staff and volunteers promote a positive environment for the clients.

Participates in assessment and in carrying out care plans.

Provides assistance to participants with their activities of daily living while they attend the center.

Performs and trains others in kitchen tasks, meal service, and bathroom duties as needed.

Provides assistance with office/clerical tasks as needed.

Observes and reports participant’s involvement and behavior to the ADC Manager and Nurse.

Communicates on a one to one basis with clients and families.

Maintains inventory of activity and kitchen supplies.

Participates in daily record keeping and documentation of clients.

Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and other relevant training.
-
May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
-
4 years of experience working in the aging field.
- 2 years of experience in supervising staff and volunteers.
- Preferred – 2 years of college in related field.
Special Skills, Tools, Technology Requirements:
-
Must be highly creative in developing daily activities for aged clients.

Must participate in Dementia/Alzheimer’s training within 90 days of hire
-
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills (upbeat and positive) and able to develop positive, harmonious working relationships with all levels.

Basic computer skills required.

Ability to obtain UCAT certification.
-
Must demonstrate an interest in working with the senior population.
-
Interacts with clients and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
-
Maintains confidentiality adhering to HIPPA requirements.

Responds promptly to client needs.

Must have knowledge of various social and therapeutic activity programs.
-
Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must have ability to problem solve.
-
Must train and become First Aid and CPR certified.

Proof of a negative TB test within 45 days prior to hire.

Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.
