Manager of Client Activity Centers


Job Summary

Responsible for the daily operation of Daybreak, Adult Day Care Center, and Friendship Dining Centers (FDC) sites.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Recruits, screens, and facilitates training for the ADC Staff, ensuring training is applicable for certain positions.
  2. Provides support for ADC staff and helps conduct their evaluations, alongside the LEA Supervisor in a timely manner.
  3. Assists clients with personal care and activities of daily living as necessary, promoting independence and dignity.
  4. Responsible for client recruitment (including tours), assessment, admission and discharges and conducts community outreach programs, if applicable.
  5. Maintains daily records, completes weekly and monthly reports, and submits in a timely manner.
  6. Coordinates and manages staff meetings, in-service training, and other relevant trainings.
  7. Communicates with the public and with client families.
  8. Practices environmental safety and sanitation.
  9. Maintains compliance with the Older American Act (OAA) requirements and Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requirements.
  10. May perform other duties and tasks as assigned to contribute to the overall well-being of the clients and the center.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a management position with supervisory responsibilities.
  • 5 years of experience working in the gerontology field with a focus on the successful aging process.

Special Skills, Tools, Technology Requirements

  1. Maintain knowledge of current Florida AHCA rules and regulations pertaining to Adult Day Center Services.
  2. Must possess skill in supervising and developing staff.
  3. Must have proven skills in conducting performance appraisals.
  4. Must participate in Dementia/Alzheimer’s training within 90 days of hire.
  5. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  7. Exceptional skills in quality control of data for compliance reporting.
  8. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.
  9. Superior computer skills and ability to quickly become proficient in MOWP’s custom software, AIMS, as well as become proficient in Department of Elder Affairs’ software, e-Cirts
  10. Maintains confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA requirements.
  11. Must have knowledge of various social and therapeutic activity programs.
  12. Must have ability to solve problems.
  13. Able to forecast workflow and needs (i.e., staff schedules)
  14. Must train and become Safe Serve, First Aid and CPR certified.
  15. Proof of a negative TB test within 45 days prior to being hired.
  16. Must be able to bend and lift up to 25 pounds.
  17. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.

M-F, 7:00am-3:30pm

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
