Vice President & Chief Operations Officer
In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Haskell is ultimately responsible for the programs of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, Inc. These include The Food Bank of Manatee, Home Delivered Meals, Friendship Dining, Adult Day Care, Transportation, and other PLUS programs. His responsibilities also include maintenance on all four buildings currently utilized by Meals on Wheels PLUS.
Haskell graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting (1976) and a Masters of Accounting (December, 1977). He took and passed the CPA exam in 1977, and became certified in January, 1978. He began his accounting career with KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co.) in Tampa in January, 1978, and was promoted regularly until he was named Partner in the Tax Department in 1987.
Haskell left KPMG and public accounting in 1994. He was named Executive Director of the National Kidney Foundation of Florida in 1995, a position he remained in until 2004. At the time he left, the National Kidney Foundation of Florida was a statewide organization with a staff of 7 that was generating nearly $1,000,000 annually.
Haskell joined Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee in April 2005, as Fiscal Director. Two years later, he was promoted to Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, and became a valuable member of the leadership team. He was advanced to Chief Operating Officer January 1, 2019. During his tenure, the organization has grown from $3.5 million annually to more than $10,000,000 in 2018.
