COVID-19 Update
Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee is committed to ensuring the safest practices and is making continual adjustments to our operations. It is our mission to provide nutrition and caring, supportive services, with increased precautions to safeguard our clients, volunteers, and staff.
We do not know at this point how long this change of regular operations will be in effect, but we will continue to update our Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee COVID-19 Information Page as well as our Meals on Wheels PLUS Facebook page.
The Friendship Dining Program invites those 60+ years of age who are seeking companionship, activities and a hot, nutritious meal. Two Friendship Dining Centers are conveniently located in East and West Manatee County and are open Monday through Friday, except holidays. In some instances, transportation can be provided.
All Friendship Dining Centers receive the same meals as the home-delivered meal clients, provide one-third of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA), and are approved by a registered dietitian. Alternative meals may be available to meet certain dietary preferences.
Participants enjoy the following services provided at these centers:
- Recreational activities including films, field trips, art and music
- Holiday celebrations
- Card games, bingo, creative projects, and more
