In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Meals on Wheels PLUS is deeply concerned for all affected by the hurricane.
Through our PLUS program, The Food Bank of Manatee, we are evaluating the nutrition needs of residents who may have been impacted by the storm. Through our network of 105+ food pantries and partner agencies, we expect to assist families with essential items in the coming week(s).
If you or someone you know is in need, please see our updated list of pantries.
If you experienced little impact from the hurricane and are able to help, we would be grateful for assistance in the following ways:
-
Please donate any unused, unopen food items and/or bottled water you purchased for the storm to The Food Bank of Manatee; often stores throw away water, but we can put them to great use.
-
Donations can be dropped off at our main office located at 811 23rd Avenue East in Bradenton or at our Daybreak Adult Day Center located at 10920 State Road 70, Lakewood Ranch. Both locations are open regular business hours between 8:30am and 4:00pm.
-
Make a monetary donation in support of The Food Bank of Manatee. You can make a secure gift online.
-
Additional Items are typically in need post-storms, such as cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and paper towels. To see items currently most needed, please see the list of critically needed items.
All donations stay in Manatee County to help Manatee County residents!
Thank you for your consideration and support.
