Our Mission:

To assist individuals to live independently by providing nutrition and caring, supportive services.

The “PLUS” is because we are so much more than meals!

Most people don’t realize all the amazing and impactful programs Meals on Wheels PLUS offers to Manatee County residents.  With four vital programs within Manatee County, impacting thousands of residents each year we offer nutrition and services for residents of every age!

Our Home-delivered Meals program is the program most people think of when you hear “Meals on Wheels”. Through this program, seniors and homebound residents in our community receive nutritious meals delivered to their front doors by our volunteers and staff.  Often isolated and alone, this delivery is so much more than a meal to our clients – the interaction provides hope in knowing they are not alone or forgotten.

The Food Bank of Manatee is the largest hunger relief organization based in Manatee County and the only food bank located in our community. The Food Bank of Manatee is the leading, local source of nutrition for food-insecure babies, children, families, and the elderly in Manatee County.

Daybreak Adult Day Center is the only licensed adult day center in Manatee County, providing skilled care for aging loved ones when caretakers must work or meet other responsibilities during the work week.  Licensed for 100 clients, the adult day center has a 6:1 client-to-staff-ratio.  All programming is designed so that each person reaches their highest level of independence and sense of purpose.

Friendship Dining Centers – with convenient locations in Manatee County, Friendship Dining Centers are a great way for those 60+ to find companionship, enjoy a nutritious meal, and participate in fun activities.
